We need God’s truth and we need each other.
These two truths are the cornerstone of what we want our church to be all about. It’s a mad, mad, wild and rushing world! Where is the church? Can it regain a sense of relevance in our society? The church is no longer the head, but the tail of society. I strongly believe that the main reason for this is that we have ceased to have the powerful anointing comes from God’s truth for out lives. God’s word/truth is always the most relevant thing to give our life meaning. I also believe that the church has largely turned away or forgotten the core truths of God’s word and turned to marketing the gospel to try and “seem” relevant. As such we have lost our anchor and our power. Jesus said that “the truth will make you free”. Do you long to be free? Really free in heart and soul? Jesus has the answer. A simple hearted understanding of God’s Word can make a big difference in our lives.
On the other hand, knowing the truth and having the power to live it out are two totally different things. The bible teaches that we are weak and sin is strong. We need to find people we can share our struggles with confidently. People we can help and be helped by. We all have the need to give and receive help. This loving help must be the cornerstone of the church. As Jesus said, “the world will know we are His by our love one to another.
No matter what you think that you need God knows that real need of your heart. That is why He wrote you His Word. If you have hard questions God has the answers! Personally, my answers may not satisfy you, but we can explore God’s truth together, and He can surprise us with the greatest of answers.
